=> the first four chapters doesn’t really say much...not that I expected much since Sara has to first do a recap and also because they’ve “technically” already solved ali’s murder and A. But even having said that it’s already so obvious that the girls are getting themselves into more trouble in the ways that they do (which I find really surprising since they’re in grade 11).
Emily being still super hung up on her crush on ali isn’t all that surprising since as I’ve said to my friends at times, “crushes are like embers, even though they’ve ‘died out’ they’re always going to be there waiting to be a full blown fire once again.”
As for Hanna...well...i don’t even know where to start with her. Yes I know she use to be bulimic and can relapse easily so I’m not blaming her for almost wanting to purge again, in facts thumbs up to her. Her stepsister Kate however is a whole other story. I understand hanna’s frustration with her and it’s not just sisterly rivalry. When reading about kate, I end up just really wanting to slap hanna’s dad for not even trying to see her pov and always taking kate’s side. It’s like Hanna’s always in the situation thats similar to when I’m super frustrated with my parents and thinking that they’re taking my sister’s side...but instead of it happening like once every year (and probably falsely accusing my parents), it’s happening to Hanna ALL the time.
And Aria, oh Aria. I don’t want to call her a S....t =) but she falls for so many of these older men (well by a few years...7ish maybe?) and like come one girl! You JUST broke up with Ezra and got him fired do you really need to move onto Xavier already?! Ugh, yes I get that as a 16 year old, checking people out is like second nature but it’s like she didn’t have any second thoughts before liking Xavier.
I think I actually feel the most sympathetic towards Spencer. Iunno if it’s just that she has this innocent factor going on (or well so I feel that she does anyways), or that her main drama’s her Golden Orchard essay. And I know that it’s impossible to be perfect which is what she’s trying to do and what her family encourages. I know that even though yes we can push ourselves to try and be prefect, we it’s not possible to be perfect all the time and every time. I think her Nana’s death may be a turning point for her since well at least her parents are talking to her again...
