Not The Last.

=> from A(to readers):
Yup, Ian’s dead. And our favorite foursome probably wish they were. Hanna’s daddy hates her. Spencer’s broke. Aria’s a hot mess. And Emily switched teams so many times I’m getting whiplash. I’d feel bad for them, but y’know, that’s life. Or, um, death, in Ian’s case.
I suppose I could let bygones be bygones, forgive and forget, yadda yadda. But where’s the fun in that? These pretty little bitches got everything I ever wanted, and now I’m going to make sure they get exactly what they deserve. Does that make me sound awful? Sorry, but as every pretty little liar knows, sometimes the truth’s ugly – and it always hurts.
I’ll be watching…
Mwah!
-A

As A will be watching, I will for sure be reading. This last note (for now) from A though, it really play upon karma, how what goes around will eventually come around. The girls weren’t good people and now it’ll come back and bite them. Now of course I’m not saying that they deserve it because no one really deserves anything really, bad OR good. But as A says, “y’know, that’s life.”

End For One, Beginning Of More.

=> these last five chapters seemed to have gone by so fast when reading it mostly likely because it was so intense. When reading it I actually did fear for spencer and scared to read on just in case, but yet I had to read on and try to finish the story because it was sooooo good and exciting.

My first response to Spence is, “girl, you’re an idiot.” Why on earth would she go into the woods alone especially since the text was from Ian? Fine, so she now thinks that ian might not have killed ali. fact is still that she’s scared like crazy and paranoid even at the sound of a leaf crinkling. What made her think that she’ll be a) safe in the woods at night, b) not be even more terrified than she is now? Personally I doubted whether or not it was ian sending the text, cause if I remember correctly, A’s done this in the past once, pretending to be someone else. And what do we know? obviously she did it again since a stone cold corpse couldn’t have sent it.

As if we didn’t know that something was up with kate before, she so obviously is. But then again we have to keep in mind that sara does try to throw her readers off like that, which I have to admit really works. If kate doesn’t have herpes, maybe she got knocked up and got an abortion… who knows. But anyways I think that maybe I should pay more attention to any clues that may help figure out what kate’s planning to do and to whom. Since hanna thinks that everyone’s out to get her would only naturally think that kate’s planning against her, but that’s not necessarily true…hopefully. The girls have gone through so much that it’s hard to think that they’ll suffer any more than they have already.

Overheard conversation of former Rosewood Day girls:
“When we were dissecting the fetal pig, he stabbed that thing like he was really enjoying it.”
“Yeah, but all the guys got super violent with those pigs…Remember Darren? He pulled out the intestines like they were spaghetti!”

Oh my. Those pigs. They were so fun to dissect. But really, does stabbing and destroying a formaldehyded pig mean anything? If stabbing those pigs labels you as a murderer then my bio class must be all future murderers -_- and well who knows what I would be...a dentist or a (insert the name of the people who accidently cut tracheas then stick the probe up it and out the pig’s mouth)? I guess this is actually just a classic example of how people remember the worse of everyone. People aren’t going to remember the girls for being popular, scholarly, brilliant swimmer, artiste. If all secrets continue to come out, they’re going to remembered as bulimic, cheater, lesbian, pedo lover.

For sure the book ends with yet another cliffhanger. After 5 books, it’s beginning to feel like this is a wild goose chase and that they’re always going to end up back at square one. But the problem is that I’m so addicted to the books that I just have to finish the series as they come out. Anything that’ll help my urge for a PLL dosage is more than welcome, their site, Facebook, wiki, anything. Next time, it’s if0nly Reads PLL: Killer.

All That It Appears To Be.

=> Emily’s thoughts:
But Emily no longer cared. Let them see, she thought. Let Lanie go back and tell everyone. Her days of hiding things were officially over.

It seems that emily’s starting to understand that you can’t be afraid of what others will think if you’re to feel comfortable in your own skin. Strangely it’s like A actually helped her to understand this. If it wasn’t for A, em might not have learnt that she’s able to face the world even after they found out her secret of being gay. And how she accepts the fact that she’s probably bi and figured that eventually A’s going to tell everyone anyways so why bother with keeping it a secret? But of course, this is probably easier said than done haha.
This quote also leads to another question though. Obviously this isn’t going to stop A from blackmailing her, but what arsenal does she have against em now? the big thing that A was using with em was threatening to tell people that she was gay, but now what? Everyone knows now including her Isaac and he obviously doesn’t care. Is she going to threaten to get Isaac’s church to getting them to break up? Considering that most of Rosewood Day knows and therefore at least a number of people from Isaac’s church already know that she’s gay and after the party, they now also know that she’s bi. but honestly ultimately it’s isaac’s choice, not the church’s on whether he should stay with her. However, knowing this series and A, I know that sooner or later em’s going to get herself into more scandalous events which then A’s going to blackmail her with. Or even for the time being, blackmailing her about how the girls’ have yet to tell the police about ian’s visit to Spence.

All’s True, All’s False.

=> from A:
I know that someone sometimes makes herself puke in the girls’ bathroom. And I know someone’s sad because she isn’t daddy’s only little girl anymore. And I know someone dearly misses her old BFF, even though she wanted her dead. How do I know so much? Because I grew up in Rosewood, Hannakins. Just like you. –A
Hanna’s thoughts:
But maybe Mona was never her BFF. Maybe she had just been waiting for the precise moment to take Hanna down, to get revenge for all the horrible things Hanna and her friends had said to her.

Hanna seems to have been more affected by Mona’s death than anything else. But that’s perfectly understandable as pretty much her life revolved around her and mona’s friendship. It’s hard breaking away from a friendship that meant so much to you, that formed so much of you. Especially because not only did mona die, mona lied (by omission) about who she was. Having gone through it firsthand (minus the blackmail and getting run over), I know how much that hurts. It’s like everything you’ve known no longer is true. Everything suddenly made sense but yet you wished that it didn’t in order to save yourself the hurt. For the next little while it was like the ground beneath you melted away. day and night, all I was able to think about was her, and trying to decipher what can I believe and what things i shouldn’t. trying to figure out what was true and what was total fakeness. I remember that after the friendship broke I was just so disgusted by every mention/reminder of her, and I still am to this day. It’s to the point where I can’t even mention her name. ugh. Luckily, I have a great support system behind me who was able to lessen the blow from the shattered friendship. It’s something that hanna doesn’t have and in this way I feel bad for her. How will she be able to cope with her past? How will she be able to face the new A? what she must be going through is probably ten times worse than what I went though and honestly, that was already hard enough for any 15-16 year old to handle.

But How.

=> from A:
Question: If poor little Miss Not-So-Perfect suddenly vanished, would anyone even care? You told on me twice. Three strikes and we’ll find out if your “parents” will cry over the loss of your pathetic life. Tread softly, Spence. –A

As A sends more notes, I’ve started to notice that this isn’t like Mona-as-A’s notes. Mona’s have kinda always in the end threatened to tell a secret from the past. These notes are more, so to say present and talking about the scandals that might happen if word got out about the lives of these girls. Reminds me of Gossip Girl actually except with all secrets staying secrets (well most of them for a while anyways). Anyways back to A and not GG. How does she know about spencer’s doubts of being a true hastings? Did A find old documents? Looked up / hacked the library’s computer history? How did A know that Em’s with Isaac and that he doesn’t know about maya yet? Personally knows Isaac? How did A know about Aria-Xavier-Wolfgang-Ella triangle? Now this one I’m really stumped cause at least teens gossip (re: em and Isaac). Adults, yes do still gossip and even gossip about teens but to gossip with teens? Iunno…unless A’s Mike, BUT that’ll just be really really weird. abirhjekfgshaf too many unanswered questions!

Hits Like A Train.

=> so, it doesn’t seem like we’re giving Spence more credit than she deserves. At least she was able to figure out pretty quickly that she’s adopted or well at least has the right to suspect/assume (even though you make an ass out of u and me when you ass-u-me, which in this case is what might end up happening). I don’t know if her relationship can be even more strained than it is now, but for sure I would think that Spence thinking that she’s adopted and if it’s true, that it would create a bigger rift in the family. Even if she isn’t adopted, it’s a pretty big deal that she was left off Nana’s will and in her mind she’ll be wondering what’s she done to wrong nana so bad that she has no inheritance.

Another option actually came to mind just now. “Spencer tapped her nails against the wood-grain patterns in the [library’s] study room’s big mahogany desk. Someone had etched Angela is a slut into the surface.” Maybe nana’s meaning of ‘natural-born’ isn’t being adopted, maybe her meaning of it was not being born to man and wife. Yes, I know Spence is the younger child. But what if mrs. hastings had an affair that the adults all kept secret? What if mrs. hastings is what angela is. It would all still make sense. The Hastings favours Melissa not being Spence is adopted but because she the illegit child, mrs. Hastings didn’t like the Ali&posse playing a family of adopted children because she had thought of adoption/abortion for Spence. and afterall, this IS rosewood.

Now They Know.

=> from A:
Honestly, bitches…did you really think I’d let you off that easy? You haven’t gotten nearly what you deserve. And I can’t wait to give it to you. Mwah! –A

The girls have every right to be terrified. I know that I would have definitely freaked out if I was blackmailed and know that Mona would have done anything to shut you up including running you over with a car and throwing you off a cliff. Because PLL’s site and the back of the book’s already says that there’s a new A (who’s apparently worse than Mona), I know that A isn’t a faux A. If I didn’t know that though for sure I would have been like Hanna and think that it’s a copycat.
I think it’s just sometimes we end up blocking what’s right in front of our face just to make it feel like we’re in control. Or maybe it’s because we end up getting caught up in it and just miss the obvious or force ourselves to think otherwise. Sometimes it can just be that you’re so terrified that you just need that one thing to hold onto to make you feel just a little bit safe. That’s why I held onto the emotions of lost and probably why I still hold onto the memories, articles, poem in dedication, why everything skating means so much to me. To lose it, would be like losing Scott all over again, losing every single silly and naïve goal, losing myself again.

So We Begin Again.

=> and now all the drama really starts to go aohbatpojefnvg x_x

Bahhahahahaha Kate’s making Hanna have lunch with Naomi and Riley. Now as we all know lunch = your friends/group/clique. I can’t even imagine how hard it must have been to have lunch with Naomi and riley. But yet it’s just so funny in a “taste of your own medicine” kind of way. I’m wondering though if Hanna might actually relapse since she’s still very superficial and envying kate’s body.

when Emily hears that Ian’s case might not go to trail, I’m not even sure how I should react anymore. It seems like because I always starting the next book so much after finishing the last, I end up forgetting how many twists and turns Sara writes in and how she’s able to manipulate how we think (ie ali’s murderer, A suspects etc). So as I read that ian might not be tried I honestly don’t know if he’s the murderer or not simply because of how no one suspected Mona as old A or of how ian’s ali’s “murderer”. So really, how can we trust what we’ve read or the between the lines that we’ve been manipulated to read as we try to piece together this puzzle too?

“As for Mrs. Hasting’s other assets...she bequeaths two million dollars to each of her natural-born grandchildren as follows.” WOW TWO MILLION BUCKS? Hole lee mackerel. No wonder why Rosewood’s so preppy and buy-whatever-you-want. If I remember correctly, it’s the first mention of how much money they have. Like just imagine, three times 2mil? That’s 6mil right there on the grandkids alone. But whatever, money does come and go and isn’t even the main point here. It’s what’s said that’s the main point. Okay now I have no clue what bequeath means but given the circumstances I’m guessing that it means inherits. And as soon as I read natural-born grandchildren, I knew something was up. Call me PLL obsessed but I’ve learnt that EVERY single word can change the course of the book. Spence is soooooo not naturally born, and left me debating if she’s in vitro or adopted. Which reminds me of that Friends episode where Chandler accidently told the triplets that Phoebe’s their birth mom and another kid that who didn’t know he was adopted, that he was adopted. Imagine the feeling of pretty much just everything you’ve ever known just shatter into non-existence. Even having a personal friendship shatter took a huge huge toll on me, a family shattering would be like 1000000 times worse.

And again, we reach aria...Xavier = Wolfgang = Ella’s (her mom) date via one of those online dating profile sites = WRONG WRONG WRONG PEDO LOVER WRONG WRONG WRONG SOOOOO WRONG. Nuff said.
