=> Emily’s thoughts:
But Emily no longer cared. Let them see, she thought. Let Lanie go back and tell everyone. Her days of hiding things were officially over.
It seems that emily’s starting to understand that you can’t be afraid of what others will think if you’re to feel comfortable in your own skin. Strangely it’s like A actually helped her to understand this. If it wasn’t for A, em might not have learnt that she’s able to face the world even after they found out her secret of being gay. And how she accepts the fact that she’s probably bi and figured that eventually A’s going to tell everyone anyways so why bother with keeping it a secret? But of course, this is probably easier said than done haha.
This quote also leads to another question though. Obviously this isn’t going to stop A from blackmailing her, but what arsenal does she have against em now? the big thing that A was using with em was threatening to tell people that she was gay, but now what? Everyone knows now including her Isaac and he obviously doesn’t care. Is she going to threaten to get Isaac’s church to getting them to break up? Considering that most of Rosewood Day knows and therefore at least a number of people from Isaac’s church already know that she’s gay and after the party, they now also know that she’s bi. but honestly ultimately it’s isaac’s choice, not the church’s on whether he should stay with her. However, knowing this series and A, I know that sooner or later em’s going to get herself into more scandalous events which then A’s going to blackmail her with. Or even for the time being, blackmailing her about how the girls’ have yet to tell the police about ian’s visit to Spence.
